With the passage of time, world has seen great number of inventions and innovations that has shaped our lives in a manner that has made major activities easy. 

Talking about culinary industry, some of the great inventions of product, service and even process brought a positive change. Technological Products like oven, microwave, or even as small as toaster. Process like baking, grinding have contributed in food industry.

Microwave oven is one of the greatest invention of all times. It dates back to 1920 where it all started. Percy spencer, American engineer is considered to be the one who discovered the technology behind working of microwave oven and how it can heat food with microwaves. 
Microwave oven started gaining popularity after getting launched in market in 1967.
But invention without modifications and improvements can be swiped out of the market by other more innovative products. So, microwave oven witnessed numerous innovations and equipped with new and better elements to cater the needs of customers. 
Latest innovations in microwave oven has brought a number of usage of microwave oven. It is credited as a product or a technology that can heat food items. For example, re-heating pizza, burger, melting chocolate truffle pastries etc. But we tend to forget other benefits it provides.

Providing 30years of inverter technology which is energy efficient and saves a lot of units of energy. It aims at providing large spacious interior to let more of food to place inside. 
In order to speed up the cooking, microwave was improved to allow both high-power and low-power output which resulted and made grill and other types of cooking possible. They also expressed functions like auto- menu , setting temperature for grilling, baking, heating.

Microwave oven was actually invented accidentally. One day at work, Percy was having a candy bar in his pocket, and then he found it melted. He then realized that the microwaves near him where he was working caused it to melt. Soon after he started experimenting, later he realized that microwaves could cook food quickly – In fact faster than those conventional ovens that cook food with heat.
In 1954, The Raytheon Corporation produced the first commercial microwave oven. It was large, costly and also had a power of 1600 watts. Then in 1967 , the first domestic microwave oven was produced by Amana (a division of Raytheon).

Microwave oven has proved to be an exceptional invention in the history. With innovative technologies it has been a need for everybody. It is an important innovation because it has made several activities easy and actually tasteful. 
You can easily control the heating and cooking time and it is so user friendly that anybody can use it up. Heating up food with latest microwave innovative ovens has proved that it preserves nutrients rather than vanishing it. With its fast speed and convenience it is of great help in every household. And on top of it, now companies has launched energy saving microwaves which saves electricity and you from huge bills. 
It has affected everybody in a way. With fast pace lifestyle , people are separating themselves with cooking and are finding innovative products and technologies to make their task easier. For example, in south asian countries, roti is something round in shape which is made up of wheat and is consumed with cooked vegetables. But now people have started buying roti makers to save time and create food with little effort. I being a student doesn’t have time to cook or use stove again and again. Instead I find microwave oven , an amazing help to re-heat, boil eggs, potatoes and many more things. Also, I work in a restaurant where microwave oven is used for almost everything.
